Facepaint FAQ's
What questions should you be asking about this new pallet?
❓How is it different to the other narrow palettes on the market?
Facepainting Hub designed this new palette, pans and the paint.
Key differences….
1)The palette is 8 pans not 10.
2)Each pan is 14g of paint not 10g so they last longer (total 112g).
3)They are hand cut to create narrower dark strips to reduce wastage.
4)The pallet and lids are more robust than other similar products.
5)Each pan is named individually for easy identification.
6)The colours have been designed by face painters, for face painters….we wanted to address some of the common frustrations of colour combinations that just miss the mark, the ratio of dark to light in each cake and ensure they are practical and versatile on the job.
COMPLIANCE
❓Has it been produced with another manufacturer already on the market.
❌ NO! The brand of paint is, Facepainting Hub.
❓Is this just an off the shelf Chinese product?
NO! It’s is made in PRC, but we have spent a year working with the factory and our cosmetic compliance agent (‘RP’) Cosmesure on both formulation and testing.
❓Is it compliant/tested?
✅ YES! Cosmetic compliance has become increasingly complex with new requirements to protect the consumer coming out all the time….our paint AND labelling complies with ALL the current guidelines for facepaint in the UK, ROI, USA, Australia, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Italy.
We have SDS (safety data sheets) available for you to see, a CPSR (cosmetic product safety report) registered for the product in the UK and the PIF (Product Information File) held by our RP (registered person) Cosmesure .
❓Do we have an SDS?
✅ YES! The Safety Data Sheet is available to view on our website.
❓Have you got the CPSR (cosmetic product safety report)?
✅YES! This is a mandatory document required for cosmetic products sold in the UK and EU that demonstrates its compliance with the regulations.
❓Why does your label not include the statement 'conforms to (EC) no.1223/2009'?
In the UK/EU ALL cosmetic products are assumed to conform to these regulations. It is therefore illegal to quote these on a label for any product sold in the UK or EU because they are a minimum requirement set out for cosmetic compliance.
❓Why does your label not state 'Approved by FDA'?
No facepaint brand can claim they are approved by the FDA.
To sell a cosmetic in the USA you need to ensure the ingredients & colours in the facepaint COMPLY with the list of approved ingredients laid out by the FDA, and be safe for consumer use.
In addition, any facepaint sold in the USA has to COMPLY with the requirements laid out by the FDA for label information.
❓Why does your label not include the statement 'non toxic'?
Just like the statement above in the UK/EU ALL cosmetic products are assumed to be non toxic. It is therefore illegal to quote this on a label for any product sold in the UK or EU because it is a minimum requirement set out for cosmetic compliance.
❓Why does your label not include a CE mark?
Our palettes do not need to be CE marked as they are not classed as a toy. They are suitable to be used ON children but are not intended to be used BY children.
❓Has it been verified by an RP (registered person)?
✅YES! Cosmesure is our RP (stated on the label) and they verify that our product complies with safety and regulatory standards and acts as the primary point of contact for authorities.
❓Has it been tested on the job?
✅YES! We have been testing this product on the job for 3 months.
