Guide to our labels and how we keep compliant.

Label Information

  1. Name of the product.
  2. Names of the individual onestroke colours.
  3. Instructions for use in English. Repeated in Belgian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Swedish & Spanish, as is law.
  4. Ingredients used in our paint, split into two lists, for pearl colours and non pearl colours. (Some countries require amounts to be listed in order from greatest to smallest. Pearl colours contain Mica so the listing is different for their ingredients.
  5. Advisory notices and safety instructions in English. Repeated in Belgian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Swedish & Spanish, as is law.
  6. Country in which the palette is made. Repeated in French & Italian, as is law.
  7. Total weight in grams & ounces of paint in the palette. Both are required for USA.
  8. Batch number (your palette will have a specific reference number individual to the batch in which it was made).
  9. Amount of time that the palette can be used for once opened. 12 months.
  10. Symbol to indicate that this palette is cruelty free and not tested on animals.
  11. Symbol to indicate that this palette should not be used on children under the age of 3 years.
  12. Facepainting Hub logo, website, social media addresses and QR Code.
  13. Our responsible person details for UK and Europe. A legal requirement on all cosmetic products sold in the UK and Europe.
  14. Recycling symbol for Spain. (A legal requirement for selling in Spain).
  15. Recycling symbol and statements for Italy. (A legal requirement for selling in Italy).
  16. Recycling symbol for France. (A legal requirement for selling in France).
  17. Barcode.
  18. Peel and reveal symbol. (Our palette labels are double layered. Our Individual paints have folded labels).                          

Italian & French Law: All headings, country of manufacture information, and statements must be translated into Italian & French.

Legal Requirements in Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden: Instructions for use and advisory statements must be translated into the official language of each respective country in order to be legally sold there.

 

PLEASE NOTE

We have not included Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 as it is illegal to state this on a product in the UK and EU, here's the legal text;

Regulation (EC) 655/2013 Annex I, states “Claims which convey the idea that a product has a specific benefit when this benefit is mere compliance with

minimum legal requirements shall not be allowed”, on this basis Facepainting Hub has not included a statement on the label that the product is compliant with Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 as this would be non-compliant.

Please note we have not included the text 'Approved by FDA'.

No facepaint brand can claim they are approved by the FDA.

To sell a cosmetic in the USA you need to ensure the ingredients & colours in the facepaint COMPLY with the list of approved ingredients laid out by the FDA, and be safe for consumer use.

In addition, any facepaint sold in the USA has to comply with the requirements laid out by the FDA for label information.
